Spiritually Transformative Experiences are events, often unexpected, that lead to long lasting (or lifelong) changes in the percipient. They often happen spontaneously…..and are often described as among the most important events in a persons life. (and often retain their importance for many years to come)
Near Death, or Out of Body Experiences:
We’ve all heard about the bright light, the “tunnel” and of meeting friends and family on the other side, right? These unexplained events, often called NDE’s or OBE’s are thought of as some of the BEST proof that we have a soul, or spirit that resides outside of the body. The truth is, in my own life, an out of body experience that happened spontaneously while I was reading in bed completely transformed my own life and belief system as well, and led me on a lifelong journey of discovery that I continue on to this very day!
ADC’s (After Death Communications)
This is really the scientific, or academic word for apparitions……or seeing a GHOST! Believe it or not, when these happen in a way that feels authentic and real, they are rated as one of the most profound and powerful experiences someone can have. Seeing a loved one who is deceased on the “other side” is the best evidence that there is some sort of life after death, and people who report ADC’s are often forever changed as a result.
Unity Experiences
These are pretty common in long time meditators, and are often described in terms of feeling a “oneness” with everything. People who have this sort of experience often report feeling connected to other people, even feeling as one with the Universe overall. (and many people report this feeling to be like discovering the true nature of god as well!) It’s pretty rare, but very powerful and almost always changes those who experience it forever.
Psychic Medium Readings (Spirit Communication)
I can honestly say that this was one of the most powerful and spiritually transformative events in my own life as well. Speaking to a psychic medium by phone, who was a total stranger……yet who told me things about the death of a loved one that were IMPOSSIBLE for her to have known, even if she did weeks of research before I called. It literally felt like I was speaking to my loved one, through an intermediary, and I got all of the validation I needed to know it was real, and that there IS in fact a spiritual world that awaits all of us when this life ends. ]]>What is the best technique for remembering past lives now, and validating that my memories are in fact true? Do some past life memories fall into the venue of wishful thinking, or delusions of grandeur?
What about past life memories that crop up in dreams, or during deep meditation……are they more likely to be accurate, or do all sorts of memories of a previous life suffer from the same sort of problems when trying to verify that they are true?
All of these are great questions, and to me…..one of the very exciting parts of exploring this whole area with an open mind, and a true spirit of searching for truth.
As a matter of fact, as someone who has studied, researched and sought out past life experiences and documented my own spiritual journey and development over many lifetimes, I’ve found that there is no “one” method that is inherently better than the others.
For example…….
I’ve had AMAZING experience with past life regression therapy, and hypnosis…….and that has been an incredible “opening” for unpacking memories that I probably would never have recalled on my own.
I’ve had INCREDIBLE experiences with psychics and astrologers who specialize in instantly picking up on your “entire” spiritual experience, and without those readings, I would have never gotten so immersed in this whole area in the first place.
I’ve had incredible experiences with meditations and guided visualizations as well. And with EACH of the above approaches, I’ve also had my fair share of dubious and disappointing experiences, and that’s a part of this path, and process too!
Here is EXACTLY what I believe: (and what has taken me 20 years of exploration to learn)
We are all spiritual, energetic beings, who are having a temporary experience of being in physical form while here.
The Universe “knows” each and every one of us in an intimate way….and that there is a plan, and a purpose for each of our lives.
Every soul has a unique karma, and the decisions you make in this life, even the difficult ones that lead to complex consequences, are all part of a grand plan that is far bigger….and that each individual lifetime is only a small fraction of the entirety of who you ULTIMATELY are.
That there are a panoply of powerful ways to DISCOVER this evidence for yourself – and if you are serious about spiritual development, I encourage you to embrace and experience them all!

Every Medium is Different
Not all mediums communicate with spirits the same way. Some, for example, use spirit guides……to discern and direct the information that comes through. Others use psychic symbols, and get impressions of information, and then try to piece and put that together in a way that makes sense. Still others seem to be making DIRECT, one to one contact with the energies of those who have crossed over, and are having a literal conversation with real people, who simply are no longer in physical form.
As a matter of fact, as a researcher, writer and professional publisher of psychic and paranormal information, I’ve had several conversations with leading “celebrity” psychic mediums on what’s happening while they are doing a reading.
In a small group setting last summer, I listened in as John Edward described it being akin to having a conversation with someone who knocks on your door……only the door is made of a smoky, heavy glass. You can make out the general features of the person standing on the other side, and even hear what they are saying, but some of the details are muffled, unclear and require a good amount of interpretation to understand.
Other mediums I’ve had personal relationships have described the process the very same way, only using different metaphors. One VERY accurate medium I know well says it’s very much like being in a pool, and being underwater……and trying to have a conversation. You can see that the person next to you is trying desperately to say something, you can make out a little bit of what they’re saying, but it’s hard to know for sure what the words are. (and you often have to rely on symbols, signs, body language and reading lips to figure out what they’re saying!)
The REAL truth about psychic mediumship is very, very simple:
There is PLENTY of amazing information, and an avalanche of evidence that shows that many mediums CAN in fact relay information that they had no way of knowing prior.
Most of the skeptical arguments (cheating, random guessing, non specific information that applies to everyone, cold reading, etc) has been DISPROVED by many mediums who truly are as good as advertised. (and most open minded skeptics will admit that they can’t explain how that happens)

I know that they’re controversial. But they ALSO are effective. And I’ve read the arguments AGAINST the ouija board as well, which typically state that it’s the people themselves who are moving the planchette around the board. The truth is, while that may be true in SOME cases, it certainly wasn’t true in mine. I’ve had numerous experiences with the OIJA where details were revealed, names…..dates, and even death details, that were unknown to those of us at the table. (with the planchette moving around the board with such energy, we thought it might fly off the surface altogether!)

]]>Are our lives truly fated, planned and so easy to predict before it even really happens?

Are horoscopes really accurate?
Honestly? It depends on who is doing the reading! In many ways, while this is a pretty common question, it’s tantamount to asking if all lawyers are good. Or, if all doctors can help you cure cancer. If the question is, can your horoscope reveal uncanny, insightful and intuitive truths about YOUR life that other tools cannot, the answer is a resounding YES. How much of our lives are really destined or determined?
Do we have free choice?
I believe the answer is actually a little bit of both. We come into this world with a purpose, and a certain blueprint for what we’re here to accomplish. I truly believe that we each choose a lot of the hurdles and obstacles that we face in life, and that a bit part of our spiritual growth and advancement is predicated on the choices we make with the opportunities we have along the way. In a way, it’s all one big karmic “test”.
We’re here to learn, grow and evolve. We know that coming in…..and yet, 99.9% of us immediately forget what we’re here to to accomplish once we are “born” into this world. Therefore, the whole journey, magic and mystery of life is about re-discovering that passion and purpose, and aligning our actions with our authentic spiritual “self” and the goals we were given before we got here. So we each have a destiny, and YET……the choices we make about whether we fulfill that purpose are an integral part of how much (or how little) we grow while here.
Can our astrological charts plan or predict what we’re going to do with our lives?
Like I mentioned above, I believe they can, yes…..but only to a degree. I think the job of a good psychic, sensitive or astrologer is to help you SEE what you already know. In a sense, when you get a tarot reading, or a detailed horoscope reading, the reader is seeing several paths of possibilities, and then helps you make the right choices by articulating what may be coming, how you may want to respond, and what you may want to AVOID of course…..as well!
As far as soul-mates go?
We all have people we are here to learn from, grow and evolve with together.
These are our soul-mates. They don’t all have to be romantic, as well. Families are a good example of soul groups. But I definitely believe that LOVE is the central commandment of the Universe, and there is always a certain special spiritual partner that we’ve picked to love for a lifetime…..and that it’s your BIGGEST job to find them. (or to be around and available when they come to find you!)
]]>My BEST advice to those who want to explore the astral realms for themselves?
There are 2 ways to have an OBE. Only 2…….and all out of body experiences fall into one of the following 2 categories.
Spontaneous OBE’s
Induced (or intentional) OBE’s
A spontaneous OBE is the stereotypical experience of leaving the body during danger, trauma or death. Most out of body experiences fall into this category, and obviously….there is very little you can do to induce this experience on your own.
A subset of spontaneous OBE’s are those that occur NOT near death or danger, but simply because of some natural proclivity or talent we don’t yet understand. (Robert Monroe, the pioneer researcher into this whole field was an example of this…..he didn’t TRY to have an OBE, they just kept happening, and he resisted……until finally documenting and detailing the process for all)
INDUCED OBE’s are the most interesting. This is the practice of learning how to intentionally explore the astral realms on your own, and are the most exciting area to explore.
Meditation is a great tool for facilitating an induced OBE, or astral projection experience.
So too is using sound technology like brain entrainment music, or binaural beats as they are more commonly called. (Robert Monroe, mentioned above, pioneered using this technology for inducing altered states of consciousness, and they remain the most scientifically validated approach used today)
Some people use DRUGS to induce an out of body adventure, with many great writers, artists and mystics using all sorts of hallucinogens with all sorts of interesting results. (I don’t recommend this, as it’s both not legal….and more importantly, not RELIABLE, as you don’t know what’s real, and what’s a function of the chemicals)
Your best bet is to integrate 3 components.

Sound Technology
Visualization
And…..
LOTS of practice! Some people can have their first OBE in minutes. Others, take days, weeks, months or even longer. I had MY first out of body experience by accident, and it wasn’t until I began to really PRACTICE years later, that I was able to have my 2nd, 3rd….and many breathtakingly exciting astral adventures thereafter!
