Is religion, or biblical text the best way to prove the afterlife?

Good question, and one that is a bit controversial to answer…..but I’m going to tell you the truth, from my perspective at least, below.

First, I believe that EVERY religion or tradition that is based on the Bible (or any other text) is certainly fine to follow, and can give you a great roadmap for living your life in a way that helps “arrive” at the afterlife well prepared.  However, in my own experience, my own religious beliefs only give me FAITH, and belief….and very little in terms of real first hand evidence and positive PROOF.

It’s one thing to believe in something strongly (which I do) based on family teachings and traditions you grew up with, it’s another thing to have first hand evidence that there really IS something that follows this life, and I’m not quite sure that religion alone, or any faith based practice, can offer this type of certainty.,

What types of evidence is there right NOW that the afterlife is true?  

The BEST evidence is the stuff that is so concrete, you can’t explain it away.  Seeing a “spirit” for example, and being 100% certain it wasn’t a figment of your imagination or a trick of the eye, is something that can have life changing effects on your world view.  (as it did mine, many years ago)

Having a near death experience is something that changes many peoples lives as well, as they feel they’ve actually visited the realm that separates this life from the next, and in more than 98% of reported cases……are CERTAIN that the experience was real and that the afterlife is simply a place we transition to when our time on the physical plane is completed.

There are many different types of similar experiences, which in my view, all are equally as compelling and evidential as well:

For example?

  • Out of body experiences where you feel your “soul” split from the body
  • Powerful Spiritual and psychic experiences
  • Past life memories and Deja Vu

In total, there are more than 20 different types of unique experiences which I believe are highly suggestive of an afterlife…and taken together, are almost IMPOSSIBLE to dismiss.  (as they all point in the same direction)

The absolute BEST way to get PROOF that there is life after death?

 

A genuine experience with a real afterlife medium is probably the easiest way to get personal proof that can’t be explained away otherwise.

In my own life, I was once a die hard skeptic…and it wasn’t until a psychic medium told me things by phone about a loved one who had recently passed that were IMPOSSIBLE to explain.

Not only was the information specific and highly personal, this medium also told me about a recent dream I had in incredible detail, and detailed, almost to the word, the conversation I had with this loved one who had suddenly died.

Not only was this something I had never told anyone out of embarrassment, it helped me find a document that solved a family dispute as well.

To me….this was the PROOF I needed that not only was my loved one still very much alive in a different plane of existence, but that they were still a big part of my daily live and that one day, we’d be back together again as well.

Have I Lived Before? Warning! The Weird Truth About Past Lives You MUST Not Ignore

Who else has had a strange feeling that they’ve lived before?

Do you ever have a powerful sense that you’ve been somewhere in the past….even though you know it’s impossible that you were? Or maybe you’ve met someone for the very first time, and yet you can’t shake the feeling that they’re VERY familiar, or you feel like you’ve known them forever? Or maybe you have just picked up a new hobby or personal passion and find that you are just naturally REALLY, really good at it……and it seems to come to you far easier than it should? (or that other similar skills you struggle with do)

No matter how you “slice it”….there are many simple, subtle and powerful signs that your collection of experiences transcends the current lifetime.

And while many people think it sounds silly, believe it or not, there is PLENTY of powerful scientific evidence to support the idea that our soul or spiritual self continues on after physical death, and CAN choose to “come back” in a new body, and in a new lifetime in the future.

For example?

Small children who remember incredible details of past lives and who recount these experiences to their parents in painstaking detail…..EVEN when they’ve had no way to learn so much specific information.

Kids who play musical instrument, speak foreign languages and exhibit artistic talents on a “prodigy” like level…..and whose memories of past lives coincide with people who displayed those same skills! As a matter of fact……

Most serious past life research focuses on children, because they have far less to “gain” from making up stories, or wanting to be famous in a past life, or having a psychological agenda that makes telling tall tales attractive. (something unfortunately, that most skeptics and debunkers focus on when it comes to adults who describe previous lifetimes)

That said, there are several PROVEN ways to remember a previous lifetime as an adult that can have a profound, and powerfully positive benefit on your current life.

  1. Regression Therapy (Can be expensive and intense and does require a licensed professional therapist with a focus on past life memories to do the right way)
  2. Dream Therapy. (often involves a prolonged period of documenting your dreams, and looking for elements of precognition as well as recurring “karmic symbols” which keep coming up)
  3. Meditative and Guided Visualization Techniques. I personally do this at least once a day, and for 15-20 minutes will try to “regress” myself to a previous lifetime using a guided meditative script a pair of headphones and an mp3 player
  4. Tarot Card Readings. As goofy as many people believe these are, if you have a GENUINE tarot reading you’ll be amazed at how much “karmic” stuff and symbols you’ll start to see in your daily life that have a deeper spiritual meaning. (and are often trying to POINT you in a specific destiny direction as well)
  5. And of course, a good old fashioned past life psychic reading can often be the very BEST way to remember your previous lifetimes with incredible detail and clarity, and without having to do anything other than let someone’s psychic gifts put the pieces of YOUR puzzle together. Each of us has a path and a purpose….and a good past life reading can help reveal that in a very powerful way when you’re ready to hear what the Universe WANTS you to know.

Regardless of what you believe right now, opening yourself up to the idea of past lives can reveal the fullness in your life, and can help you understand your higher, authentic self and TRUE spiritual nature as well. Think being psychic is fun?  

Do you believe that your life is going to be a non stop carnival of cool experiences and crazy people if you develop your own psychic skills?  The truth is, most people who learn to develop their intuition do very little with the god given skills they’ve got.

Why not?

Most aren’t even 100% sure they are REAL…and spend a ton of time trying to get personal proof that they aren’t just getting lucky more often than most.  Others try hard to ignore the feelings and sensations of being sensitive to things that others are not…..just so they do NOT feel weird or out of place.  Others may have a religious aversion to supernatural powers…..or face family pressure to ignore what is going on inside of them.

What is a bit ironic is, while there are millions of people who are actively trying to learn to become psychic, there are probably a few million people walking around right now who ARE uniquely gifted and trying to stifle their own psychic skills.

The truth is, I can’t imagine what my life would look like if it was as “plain jane” as it used to be BEFORE I immersed myself in the world of imagination, intuition and surrounded myself with inspiring people who felt the same.

Is there any real evidence that past lives are real?

Absolutely. And lots of it. Children who remember vivid past lives and recall in great detail specific names, places, speak languages they’ve never heard and do all sorts of other things that seem to suggest their memories ARE in fact that of the lives they’ve described. There have been many books written about small children and the evidence for reincarnation by HIGHLY esteemed scientists and researchers, and there is even an entire division at the University of Virginia that studies this incredible phenomena in an academic setting.

Do we seem to come back with the same group of people each time?

Much of the anecdotal evidence SEEMS to say YES! As a matter of fact, Dr. Brian Weiss, the well known psychiatrist and author of many books on past lives, believes that each lifetime is really an opportunity for each soul group to grow together and overcome obstacles they need to evolve in the next life, as a unit.

Does EVERYONE live past lives? Will we all live FUTURE lives as well?

It really depends on who you ask. There are all kinds of complex, convoluted ideas about what an afterlife would be like, and what our choices are once we get there. Some say that time, as we know it, doesn’t really exist at all….hence, maybe past and future lives is really not the way to look at it at all! (e.g. – maybe there are multiple “levels” to each existence, and maybe, some argue……time only really applies to this one)

The easiest ways to get first hand evidence that past lives are real?

The 3 traditional modalities for past life recall are:

  • Meditative and guided imagery
    Past life regression therapy
    Psychic, Tarot or astrological readings for past life memories

Each of course has it’s pro’s and con’s and I’ve done each multiple times, with great results. Past life therapy is probably the most in depth, but it’s also the most expensive, the most time consuming and occasionally the most frustrating as well. (plus you need to make sure the person you pick is good, honest and knows their stuff)

Readings are the least expensive and time consuming…and can often yield great results in 30 minutes or less, for 20 dollars or so. Meditative techniques are great, but take a while to learn and can really require a great investment in your time, to have genuine past life memories you can trust. (although I practice this everyday myself…and it IS a lot of fun!)

Why I Believe in Psychics

I believe in psychics.

I guess you probably gathered that by the title of this article.  But the truth is, I haven’t always been a “new age nut”.  (the nickname many of my friends and family call me when they think I’m not paying attention)

I started off as a super skeptic.  Actually, I was the person MOST people would turn to when they needed a paranormal claim debunked.

You see, as a writer and researcher and explorer of all things magical, mystical, mysterious and unknown…..I had looked at some many so called “cases” that “proved” all kinds of extraordinary things, that I had grown tired of the chase.  Almost every time…..I found a logical explanation that those who reported the case didn’t see.  (or if they did….they intentionally chose NOT to share it up front)

I had come to believe ALL psychics, mediums, ghosts, and similar style stuff was ALL a big scam.

One day…..ALL of that began to change.

First, I had a bizarre experience in the middle of the night, where I was awoken by a co-worker standing at the foot of my bed….bathed in a weird, golden light.  He stood there, waved….and then slowly disappeared.  (I also heard the phrase ” I came to say goodbye” clearly in my head, although he never moved his lips, or said anything out loud that I could tell)

Of course, the next morning…..we got a surprise call at the office letting us know that this well loved friend and colleague had passed away the previous night in his sleep, of a brain aneurism.

Then – about a month later, I had a chance meeting with a psychic medium who told me about this experience, and included details I had never told anyone in the world.  (including hearing the voice in my head telepathically, saying goodbye)  This medium, who was working on the phone and had never met me personally, also told me details of my relationship with this co-worker that no one in the world had known, and even things I didn’t know myself.  (but checked out to be true when I went home and looked through records)

These 2 experiences changed me.  And in profound ways.  And regardless of what you believe now, I think if they happened to YOU, they’d change you too!

I began to aggressively commit myself to studying psychics, mediums, and evidence of the “afterlife” that I had one time looked upon as silly.

  1. Psychic readings
  2. Near death experiences
  3. ADC’s (after death communications…..which is the scientific term for “ghosts”)
  4. Astral Travel and OBE’s
  5. Past life memories
  6. EVP (or people who hear electronic messages that sound remarkably like loved ones who have passed)

And of course, I studies psychic mediums of ALL types, including getting readings, or seeing many celebrity or famous mediums who are household names and well known around the world.

What I came to believe is very simple.

Most psychics are NOT that impressive.  And most paranormal experiences are NOT all that hard to explain.

But 10-20% of all psychic experiences CANNOT be explained away as luck, chance or fraud.  And when you have a genuine experience, with a legitimate psychic, medium or clairvoyant, your WORLD view changes in ways that are exciting, liberating and incredibly eye opening to boot.

I’ve now had MANY of these experiences, and I’ll never be a doubter again.  (i’ve also had plenty of BAD readings, and “false alerts” as well, but that goes with the territory of studying this field)

The truth is, if you want to believe in psychics, reading articles like this one is NOT the answer.  Seeking out your own experiences, and having your OWN adventures is.  And I promise you this, regardless of what you believe right now….when you begin that journey, your life will NEVER look the same, I promise!
