While most of us think that being visited by a loved one that has crossed over is “extraordinary”…….the truth is, it happens every hour of every day in every country, continent and culture around the world.

We just think it’s “weird” because our culture conditions us to believe that when we die…….we die!

That may be true of the body…..but your spirit is truly eternal.

That’s what I’ve comer to believe anyway….and believe me, it was NOT where I started when I first started studying this field.

Here are my TRUTHS:

Everyone has the ability to speak to spirits, or to communicate with the dead.

Think that’s a irresponsible and silly statement? Think again!

In several major surveys done in 2011, up to 80% of parents who had lost a son or daughter privately reported having a very distinct apparitional experience with their deceased child.

More than HALF of all spouses who lose their partner will report a vivid experience with their husband or wife after they’ve gone.

Most of the time, these are auditory experiences, or simply a strong sense of presence. BUT, in about 25% of the time (which totals MANY millions of people each and every year) there is a clear visual “visitation” after passing.

Remember, we’re all energy at our core.

Sounds are energy.

Your body is mostly made up of 99% empty space… small little “strings” of vibrating atoms and quarks that make up YOU.

Sounds strange, right?

It’s true… and it’s not “my” opinion, or that of other psychic or paranormal researchers.

That’s what Einstein proved… and what quantum physics tells us today.

When we die, our bodies are discarded… and our energetic essence, our true self, is FREED.

It has to go somewhere, right?

Mediums simply are more sensitive to the energetic frequency, the “soul vibration” that infuses and animates each of our physical bodies with life.

Much the way some people can see aura’s, and others have precognitive dreams, and still others “sense” things before they happen… mediums have the gift of being able to access the other side, simply by tuning their thoughts, and concentration on those YOU want to hear from… who really haven’t gone anywhere at all.

A good medium is like a radio tuner. Each of us has our own “mental radio”. But for most of us… we are only able to tune in to the closest channels, and pick up what is happening immediately around us. A good medium can pick up information from FAR away… and often has access to channels, and broadcasts that most of us don’t even know are playing! (but they play 24 hours a day….we’re just not tuned in enough to notice!)

Think about it. And then go out and explore it for yourself. That’s what I did… and my life has never been quite the same again!

And if that’s true…….there must be hundreds if not thousands of fake psychics working in the professional industry each and every day……with paying customers and clients wasting their time, energy and income on BOGUS readings!

So what are the signs that a reader is real?  And conversely….what are the easiest ways to tell that one is NOT as well?

Can you tell by how much they charge…..or how long they’ve been in business, or the amount of testimonials listed on their website?  What about the TYPE of psychic readings they offer?  Are some sort of psychic scams…..or gifts more easy to spot over others…..or do they all work pretty much the same way?

In this short blog post, I’m going to share what I look for to decide whether a professional psychic is the genuine article, and the #1 red flag I look for to caution me to beware!

-  Brevity is to YOUR Benefit

Said differently……Keep it SHORT.

The LESS you say, the more accurate a real psychic or medium will become.  Why?  Because genuine psychic abilities, and therefore….genuine psychic professionals do NOT want you to say much of anything at all.  They want to listen to your concerns, and address your issues in a way that does NOT require a lot of input, insight or feedback from the caller or client.

The truth is, this is the primary reason that most GOOD psychics and mediums will caution you to keep your answers as close to “Yes” or “No” as possible, and will actually cut you off if you start to reveal too much detail.

The Benefits of “Blind” Readings

This is controversial to some, but to those of us who have been around the psychic industry for any length of time, it’s a well known truism.  The BEST psychics and mediums work “blind”.  They don’t want to see you face to face, and don’t want anything that can possibly “pollute” the reading to come through via ordinary means.

For this reason, the best true psychics will work either via phone, (the best blinding mechanism there is) or via some sort of screen, filter or curtain if the reading is done in person….without ever setting sight on the sitter (or client) until the reading is done.

Why?  For the obvious reason that it’s much more difficult to explain away real “hits” as cold reading or good guesses when you can’t visually see the person who is being read.  It’s also much better for the CONFIDENCE of the client as well…..as you won’t worry after the reading about how much you “gave away” through body language, or your physical appearance, or through unconscious mannerisms that give of clues during the session.

Ironically, while many people think that the best psychics ONLY work face to face and don’t use the phone….the reality is actually the complete opposite.  (And the real reason that most scientific studies of psychics and mediums are done completely blind, usually only by phone and never in a setting where psychic and client can see each other at all)

The biggest sign a psychic is NOT the real deal?

A reader who fishes for answers, asks long detailed questions, or is overly insistent that they are RIGHT, even when you insist they’re not, is a huge turn off, and professionally, as a writer and paranormal researcher for many years….something I’ve learned is a huge red flag as well.

The funny thing?

Trusting your own intuition, and going with your gut is often the very BEST barometer for trusting people you meet in any walk of life.

This certainly applies to psychics as much as any other profession, and ironically….it can be your very BEST asset in finding readers that you’ll love for a lifetime to boot!

Is religion, or biblical text the best way to prove the afterlife?

Good question, and one that is a bit controversial to answer…..but I’m going to tell you the truth, from my perspective at least, below.

First, I believe that EVERY religion or tradition that is based on the Bible (or any other text) is certainly fine to follow, and can give you a great roadmap for living your life in a way that helps “arrive” at the afterlife well prepared.  However, in my own experience, my own religious beliefs only give me FAITH, and belief….and very little in terms of real first hand evidence and positive PROOF.

It’s one thing to believe in something strongly (which I do) based on family teachings and traditions you grew up with, it’s another thing to have first hand evidence that there really IS something that follows this life, and I’m not quite sure that religion alone, or any faith based practice, can offer this type of certainty.,

What types of evidence is there right NOW that the afterlife is true?  

The BEST evidence is the stuff that is so concrete, you can’t explain it away.  Seeing a “spirit” for example, and being 100% certain it wasn’t a figment of your imagination or a trick of the eye, is something that can have life changing effects on your world view.  (as it did mine, many years ago)

Having a near death experience is something that changes many peoples lives as well, as they feel they’ve actually visited the realm that separates this life from the next, and in more than 98% of reported cases……are CERTAIN that the experience was real and that the afterlife is simply a place we transition to when our time on the physical plane is completed.

There are many different types of similar experiences, which in my view, all are equally as compelling and evidential as well:

For example?

• Out of body experiences where you feel your “soul” split from the body
• Powerful Spiritual and psychic experiences
• Past life memories and Deja Vu

In total, there are more than 20 different types of unique experiences which I believe are highly suggestive of an afterlife…and taken together, are almost IMPOSSIBLE to dismiss.  (as they all point in the same direction)

The absolute BEST way to get PROOF that there is life after death?

A genuine experience with a real afterlife medium is probably the easiest way to get personal proof that can’t be explained away otherwise.

In my own life, I was once a die hard skeptic…and it wasn’t until a psychic medium told me things by phone about a loved one who had recently passed that were IMPOSSIBLE to explain.

Not only was the information specific and highly personal, this medium also told me about a recent dream I had in incredible detail, and detailed, almost to the word, the conversation I had with this loved one who had suddenly died.

Not only was this something I had never told anyone out of embarrassment, it helped me find a document that solved a family dispute as well.

To me….this was the PROOF I needed that not only was my loved one still very much alive in a different plane of existence, but that they were still a big part of my daily live and that one day, we’d be back together again as well.

Obviously this was a life changing experience and a gift I’ll never forget.  If you are skeptical or cynical about the truth of the above, I only challenge you to go out and seek out your OWN evidence…and while there are many paths to afterlife “enlightenment” a good psychic medium is the best place to begin!

Do mediums talk to the dead…..or are they really talking to “dead air” instead…:-) Are those of us who DO believe in all of this stuff simply gullible, easily decieved and wishful thinkers? Why do so many skeptics and psychic cynics get SO angry at the idea that any of this stuff is real? I mean….they not only don’t believe, they often get REALLY upset at those of us who do.

Why the attitude?

As someone who has been studying, researching and writing about psychic experiences for almost 20 years, very little shocks me anymore. But what DOES continue to amaze me is the level of total disregard most psychic “deniers” have for the actual evidence or PROOF that this stuff is real, true and has been amply demonstrated to millions of people.

I’ve read, watched and witnessed more amazing, jaw dropping and absolutely unbelievable experiences that I could cover in 100 articles. (and even though I’ve already published thousands…..it still doesn’t come close to covering it all!)

And yet….what STILL surprises me are the skeptical explanations of what is happening during psychic readings.

Most skeptics, cynics and de-bunkers have a short list of explanations that they use for EVERY psychic, every medium and every reading.

They’ll tell you one of the following things is happening:

1. The psychic did research on you before you arrived, read your biography online or planted people in the room to get information on you they could use later.
2. The psychic is guessing, offering general information that could apply to anyone…..or asking leading questions that gently guide you to reveal things you don’t realize. (often called cold or hot reading)
3. That YOU are too gullible or easily convinced…….and want to believe so badly, that you’ll fall for anything
4. Or, that the HITS are simply chance and we focus on those….. and forget the misses or things that don’t apply

In just about every psychic scenario, skeptics use one of these arguments.

In their world view….there are no psychics, no mediums, no spiritual realities, no synchronicities, and we are nothing more than biological robots without any greater cause or connection of the universe around us.

I know this very well….because I used to be one of them!

But what really shocks me is that when the evidence suggests something else, most skeptics simply ignore it and look the other way.

For example?

In my own life, I had a medium tell me things on the phone about 15 years ago that were flat out impossible for them to have known. Personal details about not only a loved one who I had recently lost….but also, very specific details about a dream I had mere weeks before where this loved one appeared to me, and told me very specific things that the MEDIUM was incredulously relating to me on the telephone from thousands of miles away.

Quite simply…there was no way to explain this, no matter how much I had tried….simply because I had not told another human being what had transpired in that “dream” out of fear of being mocked or patronized….or worse, even laughed at!

What I learned after that incredible experience is that there IS a lot of amazing evidence for psychic abilities, and that you don’t have to be new age, or gullible or uneducated to believe in them, or to benefit from them as well.

I’ve now had hundreds of psychic experiences and some of them have been so incredible…….and on more than one occasion, have gotten information that’s been literally LIFE saving, but for me and for others I love.

The only way to PROVE this is true?

You have to seek out your own experiences. Talk to psychics, mediums or gifted intuitives and see what they say about you, and your life. Experiment, explore and open yourself up to adventures that may sound silly, but are a TON of fun. Re-connect to your authentic purpose and the magic and the mystery in the world around you. I promise….it’s the ONE thing we can all do to go from being curious to CONVINCED!

Does the idea of opening a wild, wacky and wonderful window into the world of spiritual beings sound scary……or scintillating and sensational?  In my many years of experience with psychic and paranormal research, I can tell you that there are 3 very specific camps that most people fall into.

1. “True Blue” believers
2. Hard core skeptics and cynics
3. The CURIOUS but not convinced

Which one are you?

The truth is, you can get all of the personal proof and afterlife evidence you want, without having to believe anything I say is true, or to take the skeptics at their word, either.  The afterlife IS available to be studied by anyone with a sincere interest, and who is willing to go out on a bit of a limb and be adventurous with respect to the unknown.

I want to share with you 4 things you can do to begin to experience the afterlife NOW.  These all have worked wonderfully well for me, and have opened me  up to an amazing array of experiences over the years that I didn’t believe possible.  Remember though, just because something works for one person….doesn’t mean that it will work well for the next.  That’s why it’s important to use different channels, approaches and mediums (no pun intended!) for accessing the kind of evidence AND experiences that work for you.

• Ouija Boards and Spiritual Tools
• EVP (voice activated digital recording of electronic voice phenomena)
• Psychic Mediums
• Meditation

Many of these things work really well together.  For example, using a digital recording device while “working” with a ouija board can be a very cool experience, and can yield amazingly empowering results.

One one hand….the ouija board planchette is moving around seemingly on it’s own, and then later…..when you listen to the recording, EVP’s are captured very clearly that you KNOW you didn’t audibly hear while using the board.

Spooky?  It can be!

But exciting?  If you are genuinely interested in spirit communication……..Very!

Again, meditating before speaking to a psychic medium can be very effective for me as well, as does practicing meditation in general, on a daily basis prove to be a great spiritual tool for opening yourself up to realities that are closed off during ordinary consciousnesses.

And remember……one of the most important lessons I’ve learned from 20 years of exploration is this:

it’s often equally as difficult for your loved ones to come through on THEIR side, as it is for us, to access them….on ours.

Using time tested tools and techniques like above may be controversial to some…..but there is a reason they’ve been along for as long as they have and continue to be used.

They WORK!  (And if you don’t believe me….I challenge you to see for yourself!)

I didn’t believe easily.  As a matter of fact, as many of you already know, I RESISTED the idea strenuously instead.

Why?

I was a hard core skeptic who thought that all talk of psychics, mediums, past lives and paranormal powers was all a bunch of new age nonsense….and wishful thinking mumbo jumbo.

Even having a few very smart and scientific members of my immediate family in the  medical profession, who reported incredible experiences related to them by patients, didn’t sway my skepticism a bit.

Needless to say, for me to believe in spirits, or even open my mind a crack….was going to take an exceptional, once in a lifetime kind of  experience that left no room for doubt, or alternative explanations that appealed to my common sense.

Of course you know what I’m going to say next, right?

As hard as it was for me to admit…..I HAD that exact experience.

Here is what happened:

I spoke to a psychic medium by phone, who came highly recommended by a few friends.  This was NOT a celebrity or famous reader, but rather….a “simple” psychic who worked at home, by phone…..for one of the larger phone based services.

To say I was dubious that ANY psychic, working from home and by phone, could tell me ACCURATE information about my life, or my loved ones who I had lost, would be the understatement of the century.

Although that’s exactly what happened….and THEN some!

The medium not only told me things about my own life that were obscure, specific and highly accurate, she also told me things about a loved one that I had lost that almost no one else in the world knew.

She told me things about specific conversations we had prior to a recent passing that only myself, and the relative I had lost knew about.

She told me things that I needed to check, in specific places, to resolve a family dispute related to this passing, that even I didn’t know.  (but validated, to my astonishment, by checking an obscure spot in the family home where a clarifying document was left)

There were messages that were both specific and symbolic alike, and NOT the sort of general stuff I was expectncting, based on what I had seen on TV, or read about by other folks who “debunked” psychic readings.

No general statements, leading questions, fishing for answers or cold reading to be found.

Was everything accurate?

Absolutely not.  About 20% of the messages the medium shared with me were either too hard to interpret, or didn’t seem to fit, although most of these misses were in the first 5 minutes, and it wasn’t until a clearer picture started to emerge that the reading got uncannily good.

Could she have guessed any of the amazing “hits” or even gotten them from my friends who recommended I call her in the first place?

No way any of this could be guessed….and even if my friends would have set me up in a dishonest way (which I don’t believe for a second) the intimate information shared in the 30 minutes we spoke went WELL beyond the kind of stuff they knew, or you would share with friends when close family passes away. 

The most impressive parts of the reading contained information that not even my siblings knew….or know, even to this very day.

My best advice for you?

If you are skeptical about psychic mediums…..or that there is an afterlife, or that your loved ones MAY be closer than you think, talk to a few mediums and find out firsthand.

If you are curious but NOT convinced?

The same advice applies!

Reading articles like this one will NEVER give you the certainty that you seek.  Neither will watching mediums on TV, reading books or even listening to what the skeptics say instead.

The only way to get PROOF positive is to have the actual experiences yourself.

Remember -

One bad reading doesn’t mean anything at all.  I’ve had plenty  of them since that fateful day.  I’ve also had hundreds of incredible experiences, with amazingly talented clairvoyants who have changed what I believe is possible……forever.

Why do I say don’t OVERDO it?

Because when you have an amazing experience with “the other side”, the temptation is often to want to keep having the experience over and over again and it CAN become an obsession.  (especially if you really miss the person and want to keep the connection alive)

Instead, I recommend simply having a few readings until you find an AMAZING psychic who is right for you.

He or she WILL give you the evidence and the comfort that you seek….and then step back and be happy for yourself, and your loved ones are never far……and will be there for you when you need them most.

Some guess. Some fish for answers. And some just take your money and don’t care what happens afterwards at all.

And yet, some psychics are SO amazingly intuitive, enlightening and inspiring that a reading can have a profound effect on how you perceive your past, enjoy your present and pursue your future as well.

I know from first hand experience, as I’ve had just about every type of reading under the sun.

For example?

The kind of reading where you’ve just had something amazingly important happen in your life….and yet, 20 minutes in, the reader is still telling you about something small, trivial and totally off base.

Or, the kind of reading where the reader looks up at you expectantly after everything they utter…..looking for some slender shred of recognition or acknowledgement that they should pursue this path in the hope they hit something that fits.

Or, the kind of reading that the psychic gets BELLIGERENT when you tell them that they are off base. (Even when you say it really politely, too!) Everyone who has experience with psychics, clairvoyants or mediums over a long period of time knows this type of reader…and the more they “miss”, the angrier and more insistent they get. No fun.

And yet, once in a while you get that reading where information comes through that is so accurate, and so incredible that your jaw drops. When you hear something from a loved one who has crossed that you KNOW in your bones would be impossible for the psychic or medium go get on their own. Or when a reading just “gets” you on this incredible intuitive level, and you KNOW the advice is so fresh, unique and life changing, that you literally have an “A-HA” moment out loud.

So how do you have MORE of the kinds of readings that blow you away, and LESS of the ones you want to immediately forget?

The truth is, there is NO single, simple answer: Instead, here is a simple checklist that has served ME well over the last decade as a psychic researcher and publisher, and that still serves me incredibly well today.

Prepare properly for EVERY reading.

Write down a small list of questions you want answered, before the reading begins, and let THEM control the direction of the reading. (rather than allowing the psychic to go on a tangent or direction they’d prefer)

1. Stick with the SAME psychics:
2. I can’t tell you how important it is to find readers you TRUST, and stick by them…much the way you’d trust any other professional. After all, you wouldn’t keep switching doctors after every visit, would you? When you find someone you LIKE, work at cultivating a relationship that grows closer over time. I still speak to the same psychics today that I called 5 years ago….and this personal connection makes ALL my readings powerful, productive and enlightening.
3. Know when to say NO! When a psychic is getting it wrong, speak UP. Don’t accept bad information, or offer wishy washy responses to wrong readings. Remember, you control what you create in this world, and if you want genuine guidance from the Universe, or from spirit, or from your guides, or whatever you believe in…..you have to be willing to participate.

Lastly, when your own gut tells you something is wrong with a reading, and the insight, information or direction doesn’t sit well, STOP it, end it, or simply hang up the phone. The truth is, your own intuition is the most powerful ally in the world when it comes to discerning fact from fiction…and listening to it SHOULD be your tool for transformation as well.

Do you ever have a powerful sense that you’ve been somewhere in the past….even though you know it’s impossible that you were? Or maybe you’ve met someone for the very first time, and yet you can’t shake the feeling that they’re VERY familiar, or you feel like you’ve known them forever? Or maybe you have just picked up a new hobby or personal passion and find that you are just naturally REALLY, really good at it……and it seems to come to you far easier than it should? (or that other similar skills you struggle with do)

No matter how you “slice it”….there are many simple, subtle and powerful signs that your collection of experiences transcends the current lifetime.

And while many people think it sounds silly, believe it or not, there is PLENTY of powerful scientific evidence to support the idea that our soul or spiritual self continues on after physical death, and CAN choose to “come back” in a new body, and in a new lifetime in the future.

For example?

Small children who remember incredible details of past lives and who recount these experiences to their parents in painstaking detail…..EVEN when they’ve had no way to learn so much specific information.

Kids who play musical instrument, speak foreign languages and exhibit artistic talents on a “prodigy” like level…..and whose memories of past lives coincide with people who displayed those same skills! (whole books have been written about this, including work by the late Dr. Ian Stevenson, regarded by most as the worlds foremost expert on legitimate reincarnation cases…..and today, in 2012, Dr. Jim Tucker at the University of Virginia, who studies and publishes on children with verifiable past life memories)

As a matter of fact……

Most serious past life research focuses on children, because they have far less to “gain” from making up stories, or wanting to be famous in a past life, or having a psychological agenda that makes telling tall tales attractive. (something unfortunately, that most skeptics and debunkers focus on when it comes to adults who describe previous lifetimes)

That said, there are several PROVEN ways to remember a previous lifetime as an adult that can have a profound, and powerfully positive benefit on your current life.

1. Regression Therapy (Can be expensive and intense and does require a licensed professional therapist with a focus on past life memories to do the right way)
2. Dream Therapy. (often involves a prolonged period of documenting your dreams, and looking for elements of precognition as well as recurring “karmic symbols” which keep coming up)
3. Meditative and Guided Visualization Techniques. I personally do this at least once a day, and for 15-20 minutes will try to “regress” myself to a previous lifetime using a guided meditative script a pair of headphones and an mp3 player
4. Tarot Card Readings. As goofy as many people believe these are, if you have a GENUINE tarot reading you’ll be amazed at how much “karmic” stuff and symbols you’ll start to see in your daily life that have a deeper spiritual meaning. (and are often trying to POINT you in a specific destiny direction as well)
5. And of course, a good old fashioned past life psychic reading can often be the very BEST way to remember your previous lifetimes with incredible detail and clarity, and without having to do anything other than let someone’s psychic gifts put the pieces of YOUR puzzle together. Each of us has a path and a purpose….and a good past life reading can help reveal that in a very powerful way when you’re ready to hear what the Universe WANTS you to know.

Remember…..

Regardless of what you believe right now, opening yourself up to the idea of past lives can reveal the fullness in your life, and can help you understand your higher, authentic self and TRUE spiritual nature as well. After all, each individual lifetime is a mere microcosm of who you really are….and understanding that MAY be the key to true fulfillment, happiness and bliss. (at least it was for me!)

But FIRST…….  My Personal Psychic Experiences

First, of course ALL of this is just my own personal opinion, and based on many years of research, publishing and adventures in the psychic realm.  (as I’ve written well over 1000 published articles on psychic phenomena and maintain a whole slew of blogs, websites and social communities in the psychic field)

With that said, I’ve had hundreds of readings myself, and feel like I’m a pretty good judge at who is the real deal….and who is just enjoying a good ride up the totem pole of success!

When I first started watching the show…….

I was a bit skeptical, to say the least.  While I’m definitely a true blue believer in the authenticity of MANY psychic mediums, (through personal experience and rigorous research) I’m also very well aware that many, especially on TV, are often much more about entertainment, than genuine ethereal enlightenment.  I’ve been highly critical of Sylvia Browne, (who I believe is a con artist and NOT a clairvoyant) and even Alison Dubois (the real life inspiration behind “Medium”) doesn’t inspire me to believe she is truly doing what people purport she does.

And at first, my biggest problem with THIS show was that many of Theresa’s messages were a bit vague for my tastes and with so much “1 to 1″ contact, cold reading…..or picking up non verbal cues from clients, is a HUGE risk as well and makes for easy de-bunking, too.

(Note:  This is  BIG reason most people who study psychic mediums prefer to test them on the phone….with no direct visual contact with the people they’re reading.  This is often called “blind” readings for that reason)

Over a number of shows, and doing some of my own research by talking to other people in the field, my opinion started to change in her favor.

Watching a few shows this weekend, I was impressed by some of the seemingly spontaneous reactions of people who Theresa “read” in unexpected places, and the super specific information she shared with each of them.  (and of course, their reactions to what she shared which is very hard to script, and seemed to reflect genuine amazement and incredulity at the accuracy of what they were told)

At the end of the day, it’s VERY difficult to gauge how accurate a medium is on TV.  The format makes it very tough to judge…..as it’s TV, and designed to entertain us, and keep us coming back.  Plus, we have no idea how much is “omitted” as well, and this keeps my skeptical guard up, even today.

That said, I’m impressed with “The Long Island Medium” and it’s pretty good TV, too!  As someone who has had personal experiences (and readings) with some of the biggest names in celebrity mediumship (people like John Edward and the like, who I believe is 100% authentic) I’m definitely interested in learning more about Theresa Caputo….and when available, would be very interested in seeing her face to face as well!

The only real downside of investigating famous psychics, mediums and clairvoyants?

Cost.  Most of the better known celebrity psychics charge such a large amount for a reading, that the general public is priced out of the equation.  The good news is, you DON’T have to pay a fortune to a celebrity psychic to get an amazing reading, and often……you can find local or telephone readers who are equally as good, for a fraction, of the fraction of the cost.  As I’ve said many times in the past…..my WORST reading ever cost me over $1000 (with a famous psychic who I had to travel to see) and one my best, cost $18 and literally blew me away.….without having to get off my sofa to boot!

Have you had an intuitive experience that was so odd that you were almost embarrassed to tell anyone what happened?  I’ve had many, many weird moments of psychic serendipity in my life, but probably only 5 or 6 things SO profound that I didn’t know how to process what had happened, once I had a moment to scratch my head and reflect.

The truth is, no matter what you believe is fact, or fiction…..everyone has glimpses, flashes and dashes of deep intuitive insights, and those moments happen far more than many of us like to admit. (especially if you are super skeptical like many of MY friends are)

For example?  Believe it or not, precognitive dreams are very, very common….and in 2012, there are several major scientific studies right now focusing on JUST that one area alone.   Speaking of dreams, lucid dreams and spirit visitation dreams are 2 other very common psychic experiences that are very evidential, and can be some of the very BEST proof that the paranormal is in fact, very real.  Years ago, for example…..I had a dream visitation from a friend I hadn’t seen in several years, where he stood at the foot of my bed and just watched me with a calm, serene look on his face.  When I woke up the next morning, and arrived at work……I learned he had passed away suddenly in the middle of the night.

Very strange.  Yet very true.  How does one explain something like that away?  When it happens to YOU, it’s very tough not to be changed forever by this type of experience.

Feelings of extraordinary knowing are very common as well…..such as knowing who is going to be on the other end of the phone BEFORE You pick it up, and it NOT being someone common, or who you hear from often.

(I’ve had this experience many times with email even, or have thought of a really, really old friend for the first time in years, often mere hours before getting a Facebook friend request, or an email that comes out of left field…..from that very person)

How does one explain that?

Or process that intelligently, without just brushing it off as chance, luck or sheer coincidence.  (something all of the skeptics, debunkers and cynics are HAPPY to do for you, and laugh at the mere suggestion that psychic serendipity may be at play)

What about crazy paranormal or spiritual experiences like OBE’s (out of body experiences) or astral projection, or having an experience with a spiritual energy or even a deceased loved one?  (I’ve had several of those in the last 5 years, and it WILL change what you believe, as it certainly did for me)

Feelings of deja vu?

They are pretty common as well!  Past life memories (which I’m not 100% sure how I feel about, or how much credence I give most of these reports) or even incredible experiences with psychics, clairvoyants or mediums who tell you things you KNOW are 100% impossible for them to have known, and yet…….they know them anyway.

I believe you’ve got to BE a bit psychic yourself, to have a successful experience with a psychic or medium, but that is something we’ll talk about in more depth in another article
