What is astral travel?
Good question! It’s the experience, or the feeling, of leaving your body and seeing the world around you from a decidedly different perspective. To me, it feels like an overwhelmingly freeing experience…..where my true self is liberated from the constraints of my physical body. (which you can often see from a birds eye perspective…as soon as you leave your body)
Do you need to be psychic to have an astral projection experience?
Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, one of the most common ways for people to have an out of body experience (which is pretty similar in most regards) is through a dangerous or traumatic event.
Near death experiences, for example…..have the hallmark qualities of astral projection, as most will report the sensation of feeling separate from their physical bodies, floating above, and being able to effortlessly travel without the same laws of physics that apply to us when we are “in” our ordinary bodies.
And some of the very best and most skilled astral projectors I’ve met have also started with natural gifts in the psychic arena. My feeling is that the connection is probably in the brain….as people who are more psychic seem to be more naturally hardwired to let more of the “ethereal” world in and can block more of our ordinary world, out!
I know this is controversial, but the truth is, I’ve had BOTH types of experiences, and there is a distinct difference from the “thinking” or imagining you are out of your body, and really BEING out of your body.
A genuine OBE feels and seems as real as what you doing right now as you read these words. You can control your thoughts, what you see and where you go.
An imaginary or more brain generated experience feels dreamy, and more like a fantasy world and for me……they are very easy to differentiate.
The key to finding this out for yourself? (and PROVING you’ve got a soul?) Take an hour a night and use visualization to practice leaving your body, and take notes on what you saw as SOON as you come back.
If you keep a journal, and you mark down what you saw in your travels…..you can quickly fact check what you have written down. (if possible, having a partner is a great way of doing this, especially a partner who is NOT living under the same roof as you when you practice)
The truth is, if you have enough verifiable experiences where things you saw while out of the body prove to be specifically true…..arguing it’s your imagination at work becomes silly.
Then, the question is, if you are NOT the “you” who lives in your body, what is the REAL “you” after all? To me this is the authentic, spiritual self….or the soul for lack of a better word, and what I TRULY believe we all will one day find out either way. Are psychic experiences common?
Absolutely, yes! As a matter of fact, some studies suggest that when you account for ALL of the different type of phenomena we consider “psychic” or “paranormal”, most people will have at least one such type experience in our lives.
Okay….but what is considered “psychic” anyway? How do I know if what I had happen falls into this category?
Good question, and MY answer may surprise you! The truth is, this is a very personal and subjective area. Trust your own “gut” over what others say. If you’ve had a dream for example, where precognitive information came to you…..WELL before it actually happened, and it later proves out to be true, what someone else believes actually “happened” is LESS important than the significance for you.
Similarly……
Out of body experiences, near death experiences, seeing, hearing or having an “after death communication” and those sorts of experiences OFTEN are discounted by skeptics, cynics and debunkers as trivial and make believe. But the fact is, they DO happen to millions of people every year, and they have profound and often life changing affects on the world view of those of us who have.
My simple rule of thumb for knowing whether a psychic experience was real?
How did it change you? Did it change your world view…..or make you become convinced of something beyond a shadow of a doubt? If it did…..I tend to almost always believe that most people, especially those who are smart and self aware, are the MOST reliable source for determining whether something is FACT, rather than fiction.
A great tip if you’ve had something amazing happen, and don’t know where to turn?
Go online and research it! The truth is, the internet has become such an amazing treasure trove of information on extraordinary experiences, bringing people together to share information that years ago would have been impossible to do. Today, there are online communities for just about every paranormal experience under the sun, and no longer do you have to sit around and ponder “what just happened to me” all alone.
Remember…….
“Psychic” is just a word. I really believe that we ALL have extraordinary abilities that most of us simply ignore.
We don’t want to believe that our “minds” are much bigger than our brains. Having an experiences that “stretches” what you know is true is often the first step in an amazing journey of self discovery, and opens a wide window into the wild, wacky and wonderful world of the unknown to boot!

The best way to learn telepathy?

Meditation.
And visualization, or practicing entering and engaging with the “thoughts”, or energy imprints, that are around us all at ALL times.
The best explanation for telepathy in MY view is that thoughts aren’t actually in the “brain” at all, but they are in the atmosphere, or the environment around us all. Being able to tap into that, or being able to train your brain to “see” the information before it even gets to the individual mind level, is a most amazing experience that ANYONE can learn with practice.
Entering into deep states that transcend time and space is truly within ANYONE’S natural ability. I really believe that, and have experienced that myself through regular meditation.

There is a lot of good evidence to suggest that altered states of awareness, as the out of body experience is, are simply byproducts of chemicals in the brain.

The time of life where MOST people tend to have past life memories?
Believe it or not, it’s as a young child. Most scientific studies of past life memories that are verified later to be true originate in small children, and there have been many, many books written about this proven phenomena that are impossible to explain away.
Methods I don’t recommend for exploring your past lives?
Hypnosis and regression therapy. They are popular, and you’ll see practitioners on popular day time TV shows, but I don’t know what it really proves if you “remember” things while hypnotized, or whether a past life therapist can accidently lead you to remember experiences that you really didn’t have. (but may be suggested, and your subconscious mind just runs with instead)
The BEST way to discover your past lives?
Talk to a psychic, intuitive or medium who specializes in past life readings. I’ve had this done numerous times and have been BLOWN away by the experience, and still think about those readings each and every day. Being AWAKE (i.e. – not being hypnotized or regressed) is critical to knowing for sure the memories are real…and the information that is coming through is valid, true and accurate to YOUR experience as well! I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to fall asleep. All of a sudden, I heard a buzzing noise, and the next thing I knew it felt like my whole body was vibrating and reverberating with an energy and a frequency I had NEVER before felt. Just as I was wrapping my brain around what was happening, the next thing I know I was looking at "me" from a vantage point that appeared to be as if I was "stuck" to the ceiling. I could see the room, and myself, and it looked 100% similar as it does right now as I type this, only of course, I wasn’t using my anatomical eyes to see!
Pretty crazy, and while it was short (it only lasted about 3 minutes from start to finish) it truly transformed what I believed was possible. How can a simple psychic reading change one’s like so dramatically you ask?
The truth is, when you have an experience that changes the very core of what you believe, and offers you a glimmer, and a glimpse into a wild and wonderful world that you didn’t believe was possible, it’s safe to say your world view will NEVER quite be the same again!

1 – Suspend Your Disbelief: If you are skeptical, GREAT. If you are going in with a negative agenda, NOT great. The little we DO know about psychic energy tells us that being open, imaginative and full of possibility is a POWERFUL tool for getting a great reading, both for you and the reader as well. (and this has been documented by many scientific studies as well – belief tends to play a part in the accuracy of the information that comes through)
2 – Avoid Analysis Paralysis: Don’t’ waste days or weeks looking for the "perfect" psychic. He or she does NOT exist. Instead, focus on finding inexpensive readers that you can trust, and that look credible and have track records of success. (rather than investing tons of time in trying to find the "only" reader that is right for you)
3 – Phone Psychic Readings are BETTER! They really are. There is far less chance of cold reading, or body language tells, or other stuff that can happen in person that is NOT likely to happen on the phone. There is a reason that most professional psychics PREFER phone readings, and that they tend to be more accurate when tested as well! (less face time OFTEN means more psychic ability must be called up and counted upon, which makes the experience more credible, and far more astonishing for all!)
And never ask about death, or doom and gloom! Most professional psychics will NOT tell you when you are going to die, and it’s actually a total turn off for most, and a great way to infuse negative energy in the rest of the reading as well. (which is hard to recover from for sure)

Or how about the 50% of spouses who report seeing their loved one "visit"…..AFTER that loved one has left this world?
Or the 75% of parents who lose a child who report similar things?
Or the thousands and thousands of ghost sightings, haunting, premonitions which come true, psychic feelings and all sorts of every day experiences which all seem to point in the same direction?
