164315_m.jpgHey…..I’ve got a serious question for you.

Why are you even interested in psychic abilities, anyway?

I’m curious.

Really I am. I mean…..why are ANY of us so enamored with the esoteric. Why do so many people get SO stoked up about psychic stuff, life after death, OBE’s and other things we simply can’t know anything about for sure?

I was having a conversation the other day about this with a good friend…who is a HARD core ( die hard) skeptic.…and he said, whoever ends up “right”…..it’s all simply a

BIG WASTE OF TIME to think about!

Do you agree? I don’t. But I’m curious what you guys think. Let me know. This is one I’ve been contemplating for a few days…and to be honest, once in a while, I can actually see his point. Maybe it doesn’t matter after all. Tell me what YOU think though……I’m putting together a little report, and want to get some good feeback from our readers. ( and there ARE several thousand of you, even if most of you don’t say much!) :-)

  1. skepticism is rubbish, it has never brought mankind anywhere. we only explore such a tiny portion of our brains when in everyday consciousness: tapping in the normally non-accessible capacities of the mind is so exciting.

  2. My porpose in life is to achieve enligtenment, meditation is setting me free, God does not exist, Satan does not exist, all religions are a stupid crack, when Jesus was in dessert and confronted Satan, this Satan is in fact his own daemon, He had to pass his own daemon to achieve enligtenment, that is what i need to do also because i encountered my own daemon(my ego) and i have to fight it, its dark energies nearly killed me in one night but i am strong, i will pass him no matter how much evil is in my ego, this ego is the main block to enligtenment. As for psychic abilityes, they are good as long i don’t become addicted to them, i haved some astral travels, remote viewing, auto healing capabilities, clairvision, hearing improving and visual improving, energy worker, heart chakra hiperactivity, bursts of energy, great resistance whidout sleep, third eye activation and signs that show it will open if i pass my ego. That is all, may the force be with you.

  3. People attracted to psychic usually souls that is already mature or old, so there’s nothing wrong with skeptic either, it’s just a different timing for them, it’s like try to learn a child of 4 how to drive a car, do not force them to understand, it is useless.
It is no use for them either, as they are only interested in physical reality as what they see is real.
It doesn’t mean that they are wrong either, they need this time as a process of growth.

  4. I too have a good friend who is a big skeptic. He believes in science. He makes fun of me for believing in the possibility that astral travel exists (i’ll never 100% believe it until it happens to me and can analyze it first-hand). That being said, I’m used to argueing with these skeptics lol.

First off, I’d like to disagree with the first comment. Skepticism advances humans. It’s skeptics that get people thinking. It’s skeptics that don’t walk into something blindly. For example, thanks to skeptics, we no longer believe the sun revolves around the Earth. And thanks to skeptics, we have discovered human’s psychic abilities ;)

Personally, why am I so interested in psychic abilities? A part of it is sort of like what the first comment said at the end. It’s exciting to explore what our mind is really capable of.. “tapping into what is normally consisdered non-accessible”. So there’s the entertainment factor.

Then there’s a fullfilment factor. In other words, I study psychic abilities because it is an experience in life that is too big to miss out on. It’s like seeing nature, or having sex, or being in love.. it’s just one of those things you shouldn’t miss on trying out in life. I think if I had never had the opportunity to study psychic abilities of humans, but found out about it before I died, I would die an incomplete life. I would feel I had missed out on something huge.

I can think of another reason.. I don’t have time to think how to label this right now but I’ll explain it. Studying psychic abilities can bring me closer to myself. It can bring a feeling of overall peace to me. In order to perform psychic abilities, you have to learn how to relax (meditate), you have to learn how to really concentrate, and to just open yourself. Being able to do all these things has really centered me.. brought me a sense of peace. The majority of people in this world get caught up in everyday life. Not many people have the chance to just relax and reflect. Studying psychic abilities is a medium through which people can attain this.

Do I agree with your friend that this is a waste of time? No. But I can see where he is coming from. Most people live life and are satisfied overall with how they are doing despite the absense of psychic interest in their life. “Why pursue something like psychic abilities when I’m perfectly happy with my life the way it is? Does studying, or even having the ability of psychic powers benefit me at all?” I can understand how he might see that having psychic abilities really won’t get you any further in life. It all seems pointless from that point of view. But this point of view can sort of be compared to reading a book. Why read novels? It’s a waste of time, you don’t get anything significant out of it. If you’re thinking, “Yes, you increase your efficiency in reading and overall intelligence.”, the same arguement can be used for studying psychic abilities. You have to read A LOT on psychic abilties, that’s the reading equivalent. Then you have to stimulate your mind A LOT when aiming for success with psychic powers. There’s the overall intelligence equivalent.

So with that being said, it really comes down to one answer. Studying psychic abilities could be pointless or not depending on one’s personal interests. If most people analyze it deeply, they will conlcude that it is infact not a waste of time. But some people are just content with what they have and see no benefits from psychic powers that are worth the time. A different example of people who may think this are Catholics or most other religions. Why go through all this trouble making their brain abnormally powerful when they will be happy in the end with God in heaven anyways.

My conclusion is this: Live life to its fullest, you may only get one. Plain and simple.

  5. Specifically, I think your friend might be thinking:

“So I studied and practiced for hours upon hours for… weeks, months, maybe years… and now I can spin a psi-wheel. Big deal. I dedicated my whole life to this study and now I can read minds. Now what? I could’ve lived a regular, happy life like everyone else without being able to read minds or move objects. Now I wasted my whole life on mastering psychic abilities. I won’t get all the time i put into it back and I’ll never get to live the regular life everyone else did because I was too busy practicing.”

You really got to look at your overall success from things, not just specifics. The things you accomplished along the way.

Thing is too, you can apply this “waste of time” arguement to so many things people do in life. Like I said before, what may be a waste of time to one person could be a strong passion for someone else.

  6. I’m interested in the psychic realm as I have experienced psychometry, and worked as a telephone psychic. Accuracy without conscious knowlege is strange, but experientially real for me. I’m always ready to learn more. Best wishes with your manifestations!

  7. In my opinion, your friend may be correct. It may for him, be a waste of time. If you have a curiosity towards something, you are drawn to it. You may be drawn to it because it is something that you need to learn about. For me, I’ve always known that there is something more to this life. I haven’t yet experienced astral projection, but I am determined enough that I will.

I’ve read four books cover to cover on the subject. For me that is a big deal because I’ve never read any book in it’s entirety in my whole life. I hate reading books. But with this subject, I read them all very quickly, finding myself unable to put them down. I don’t know why I have such a HUGE interest in this sort of thing, nonetheless I do. Maybe one day I will find out.

  8. HI all

Some people come into this life knowing full well that the normal materialistic, greed and manipulation way of life is not the way for him/her. He can see the lessons and the emotians completely. he knows their is more to life than that. so he/she works their butt of to learn people(its amazing what people can teach us), different ways of thinking etc etc. when he achieves this knowledge, an apipheny hits him and he realises that it is himself that can determine anything. Every little thing from the way we do things to the things we say to the way we say it determines our outcomes. He has control of his emotians to the point where it is his spirit that leeds him in life. He thinks with the spirit and his mind and heart agree. This sort of realisation is the use of our third eyes and we need to use this in order to see our
purpose. This is what drives people to look at the unexpalined.

It is this knowing that the spirit is there and this knowing that it must lead us that pushes us to strive for perfection
For if we cannot know ourselves how else are we to know anything. If we label things incorrectly we have no idea of some of the possitive benefits this knowledge of oneself can give us.

It is our dettachment from the physical that allows us to attach with the spiritual. We cannot do both.
If the mind is focused on the physical and it chooses not to see the spiritual out of fear then the spirit will never need to look.
If the spirit understands any of the spiritual then it is already on a quest of understanding. It will push you in that direction.
It is again your choice to decide what walls of ignorance you build for yourself. Our parents built walls to protect us.
we must question these walls. this is to have understanding as to why these walls are there and build new ones based on our own understanding. I have found that many types of spiritual knowledge is not shared with the people to prevent them from spiritual development. The further we advance our spirit the less we can be controlled.
So i believe people look at the unexplained because it helps them to understand themselves.
This is our quest in order to be/feel/ experience this wanderfull feeling of enlightement.
Either we claim control of our minds or someone else will.
I hope I have given some insite here. Have a lovely day

    • Thanks, Trevor – for the lengthy comment! We appreciate your insights – And while I don’t agree with everything you wrote above….I do agree with much of it and appreciate you’re taking the time to share with all..:-)
